Award Long-Serving Employees Who Deserve Recognition

Awards are incredibly important in attracting and retaining highly valuable employees. Cash incentives are important, but nobody can doubt the value for employee morale of both a healthy competitive environment and worthy praise. Corporate awards are a non-monetary incentive for hard working employees, and no one deserves recognition more than those who have a long standing loyalty to your company. A long service award can mean the world of difference to a long serving employee and can guarantee that you retain a valuable employee for years to come. But, what options are out there when it comes to rewarding the perfect employee?

A Look at the Range of Awards on the Market

The most important aspect of a great corporate awards scheme is undoubtedly that it is great for attracting, and then retaining talent. From bookkeepers to analysts, if you recognise and appreciate your employees, it makes a big difference when attracting and retaining the best workers at your business. Awards can be great for reinforcing the confidence of a new hire, but they are even more important demonstrations of your recognition of longer serving employees. Retaining talent is one of the problems many companies face nowadays, and whether you are a large corporation, or a small local business, showing your employees that you care is a great way to make sure they stay on and are with you for the long haul. But, what sort of awards should you choose to reward your most valuable employees?

At the top end of the spectrum, the most well-earned loyalty awards are those which can be treasured and passed on; bespoke trophies are an incredibly effective way to demonstrate appreciation and guarantee continued loyalty. These trophies can be Oscar-like gold figurines, or large crystal awards that can be put on the mantelpiece and admired, and they can, of course, be custom-inscribed with your message of choice. Glass and crystal awards are a popular and classy choice, they speak of sophistication and elegance, and range from crystal paperweights to monumental clear optical crystal obelisks at the higher end of the price range. Long term service awards can also take the form of wall plaques that can be hung on the wall in recognition of a valuable employee. These awards can be coloured or not, and serve as a permanent acknowledgment of your employee’s hard work.

What to Look for When Choosing the Right Long Term Service Award

If you are looking for the perfect long time service award, there are certain things to bear in mind. The first thing relates to choosing the most appropriate style out of the types of awards that have already been covered. A long service award plaque might be an appropriate option, but it is worth considering a less traditional, dynamic crystal award for recognition of the highest levels of performance and service.

The next thing is of course quality, anything can look good in a photograph, but look closely at what it is you are buying. Consider the materials and the manufacturing quality of the award before you buy. Remember a cheaper award will not necessarily be of the same standing as an award that you have invested a bit more money in. If you go for glass or crystal, consider the clarity and finish of the material. Ideally you want a good quality award of a reasonable thickness, so that it has a really great weight to it. If you go for a high quality award, you should definitely have it engraved; the quality of an award can be wasted without the personal touch of an engraving. Bear in mind that laser engraving is inferior to sand blasting, which does a much better job on the more detailed and sophisticated artwork. Lastly, there are a lot of award companies out there, but where should you turn for the highest quality awards?

So there you have it: an insight into long time service awards and why they make sense for businesses and their employees today. It does not matter what sort of industry you operate in or how big your company is, you would be nowhere without the people that work for you, right? This is why it is critical to make sure you appreciate these individuals, giving them the respect and admiration that they deserve. This can make a big difference when it comes to employee loyalty at your business. Plus, you will probably notice that everyone works a bit harder too!
