Legendary Game designer Hideo Kojima, after stepping out of Konami in 2016 promised his return and aptly stood by his words. The Japanese director made his comeback into the gaming industry with his much-anticipated game ‘Death Stranding’.
Before giving out snippets to his new game earlier this year in Germany, Hideo added that the game was “unlike anything people have seen before. It will be an all new genre”. With the initial online trending reviews, some of which are made by pro gamers, it is only possible to say that Hideo has not been disappointed.
The game although described as “bizarrely confusing” by many already is an action-adventure with flavors of sci-fi. The game also takes you through apparent time travel and includes some very confusing mythology that is sure to take years to analyze critically.
Norman Reedus plays the role of Sam Porter Bridges, a deliveryman with aphenphosmphobia (a fear that keep him away from being touched by other). The game’s narrative comes into play when Sam finishes his first delivery. He then receives a call from Bridges (the delivery company he works for) tasking him with a job of incineration of corpse.
The game is set in the future of the United States in post-apocalyptic times where the society has completely scattered. Invisible monsters comes and wreak havoc in the world. Sam has the power to sense the monsters but cannot see them. e later gets help from a infant baby born to a brain-dead mother and develops the power to see the monsters.
The U.S Govt seeks Sam’s help to re-establish the scattered society for which he has to travel from East to West Coast to unite people of isolated communities. Sam’s ultimate goal is to reach Edge Knot City located on West Coast where the terrorists have prisoned future US President Amelie and rescue him.
