South Korean entries have been consistently making it to the top 10 charts of Netflix. Black Knight was no exception. This Netflix Original dystopian sci-fi series has made its way into the top ten charts of 89 countries including the US, UK, Australia, and Canada. Based on the webtoon, Taekbaegisa, created by Lee Yoon Kyun, the series is directed by Cho Ui Seok. You may know him for his screenwriting and direction on Cold Eyginal s and Master.
Black Knight revolves around the story set in 2071 involving a delivery man with legendary battle skills and a kid who wants to follow in his footsteps. The story has its share of surprises, twists, and a villain you’d remember. But let’s not spoil it for readers who haven’t watched season one yet. It landed on Netflix on May 12th and has made quite an impact so far. So much so that fans are already rooting for a second season. But will there be one?

Black Knight Season 2
As far as the scope is concerned, there’s ample potential for a second season. There’s a lot of mystery to be uncovered. The determining factor, however, would be the performance of the series on Netflix. Over the next few weeks Netflix will dig deep into the data related to Black Knight. They’ll figure out how many people are actually finishing the series. They’ll try to build a deep understanding of the audience’s response before planning a renewal. So, as of May 17th, there’s no news of a renewal.
Netflix is a data driven company with a highly sophisticated analytics wing.
