Budget-Friendly Weekend Activities

Budget-Friendly Weekend Activities

When the weekend arrives, most people want to have a fun time. Naturally, though, if you can save some cash without forfeiting any of the fun: even better!

In today’s world, thanks to technology, there’s a huge list of activities you can do that are both budget-friendly and entertaining. Sound too good to be true? Read the suggestions below and find out for yourself:

1. Go Hiking

Want to get outdoors this weekend? One of the best activities for this is hiking. No matter where you live, you’re likely within a couple of miles of a nice hiking spot, meaning it’s time to grab your hiking gear and go explore! Whilst hiking, it’s recommended you go with a friend for maximum fun and entertainment. Plus, if you get tired along the way, you can give each other some encouragement to make it back around!

If you’ve never been hiking before, take a backpack with you and fill it with essentials; from water to snacks. The longer the hiking trail is, the more supplies you will need – simple. Also, make sure your smartphone is fully charged in case you get lost!

2. Do a Netflix Marathon

Let’s be honest: some of the best weekends are the lazy ones where you go on a Netflix marathon. After all, providing you have a subscription, you can quite literally watch as many movies as you like throughout the weekend. Or, if you’re more of a documentary-type person, you can watch those, instead.

3. Play Video Games

Believe it or not, there are over 3.1 billion gamers around the globe. It’s hard to believe, but it’s true! Every weekend, a large percentage of these gamers will use their free time to play video games. Some play on a PlayStation 5, whilst others use the XBOX Series X/S, or a gaming PC – it’s all a matter of personal preference.

If you want to, you can even play mobile games on your smartphone. This option can be great for your pocket, as some mobile versions of big-name franchises, like Call of Duty, can be downloaded for free. You can’t get much more budget-friendly than that!

4. Try Stargazing

Stargazing is the perfect budget-friendly weekend activity for those with a sense of adventure. However, to do it properly, it’s highly recommended that you use an astronomy telescope. This way, you’ll be able to see all the little details in the sky. You might even see something crazy; such as a UFO or shooting star. In case you do, make sure to keep your camera with you so that you can film it and post it online – you never know, it might go viral!
