‘Extracurricular’ Season 2: The Suspense Continues

‘Extracurricular’ Season 2: The Suspense Continues

The viewers of Extracurricular, a crime K-Drama series on Netflix, are eagerly waiting for an announcement about its second season. The fate of the show depends on the decision of Netflix, who hasn’t made any official statement about renewing the series yet.

The show is written by Jim Han Sae and directed by Kim Jin-Min. It features Kim Dong Hee, known for his roles in popular series such as Itaewon Class and Sky Castle, and Jung Da Bin, a 19-year-old actress who has been appearing on television since the age of 5.

Extracurricular Season 2: Netflix Renewal Status

Official Status of Renewal: Pending (Last Updated: 06/05/2020)

The renewal status of Extracurricular is currently pending, and Netflix has not given any updates on the show since June 5th, 2020. Netflix usually takes at least a month, and sometimes longer, to renew a show. Therefore, fans may have to wait for a while to find out about the future of the show.

K-Dramas have become incredibly popular on Netflix, and the streaming service has become a home for the genre. While shows like Love Alarm and Persona have taken their time to announce their renewal, fans of Extracurricular remain hopeful that the show will return.

Extracurricular Season 2: Release Date

As fans await confirmation of the renewal of Extracurricular, they can only make guesses about the release of the second season. The production of the first season of the show started in the late spring or early summer of 2019, and filming was completed on August 6th of the same year.

If the filming of the second season had started around the same time in 2020, fans could have expected the show’s release in April 2021. However, it is more likely that the filming of the next season was delayed, which means that the show’s return to Netflix will be even later.

Extracurricular Season 2 Plot

Extracurricular tells the story of Ji-soo, a high school student who is determined to go to university despite his challenging financial situation. However, he leads a double life as a security service provider for an illegal prostitution business to make ends meet.

The plot thickens when Gyu-ri discovers Ji-soo’s business phone and blackmails him. Things take a violent turn when Ki-tae, a member of the illegal business, stabs Ji-soo multiple times upon finding Min-hee’s phone covered in blood in Ji-soo’s possession, leaving the audience in suspense.

Adding to Ji-soo’s troubles is Detective Lee, who begins to suspect him and the members of the Social Issues Research club for their involvement in illegal activities, despite Mr. Cho, a teacher who believes in Ji-soo’s character and describes him as a good student. The detective even visits Ji-soo’s apartment towards the end of season 1, only to find traces of blood, which could spell more trouble for him if the show gets renewed for season 2.
