Google Pixel 6 Offers A Slow Finger Print Sensor

Google Pixel 6 Offers A Slow Finger Print Sensor

If you ask Google Pixel 6 owners what their biggest complaint is, they’ll probably say the slow, problematic fingerprint sensor. However, there could be a reason for that brief agony. The fingerprint reader on the Pixel 6 has “improved security algorithms,” according to Engadget Article, which may take longer to confirm your digits or require stronger sensor contact. Google has not provided any additional information regarding its comment. Let us know more about it.

Are You Frustrated?

It’s unclear whether Google can or will fix this with a software update. Whether it can or not, it’s unlikely to offer a solution other than inputting your passcode.  If you don’t want to wait for a revision, you’ll have to be patient with the current Pixel flagship.

Why Has Google Opted For This Slow Performance?

Some people believe the slow performance is caused by Google’s decision to employ an optical under-display fingerprint reader rather than the ultrasonic sensor featured in phones like the Galaxy S21. However, Reddit commenters pointed out that phones with optical sensors, such as the OnePlus 9, perform better. There’s a good probability that software is to blame for the Pixel 6’s peculiarities.

Explanation Given By Google Pixel 6

In-display fingerprint readers are now standard on almost all flagships and upper-midrange phones. On its smartphones, Google was the only major OEM that remained employing the good old rear-mounted capacitive fingerprint scanner. However, we’ve received multiple user reports in recent weeks that the fingerprint scanner on the Pixel 6/6 Pro is a little slow and unreliable at times. Google has finally revealed why the sensor can become sluggish at times.
