Google is experimenting with artificial intelligence-powered capabilities such as generative writing for its Workspace programs
On Tuesday, Google announced that it will be introducing groundbreaking AI-driven tools to its Workspace applications. Through a blog post, the leading search engine revealed they are first starting with generative features in Gmail and Docs which can significantly simplify the writing process for users.
The post reads, “simply type a topic you’d like to write about, and a draft will instantly be generated for you. With your collaborative AI partner you can continue to refine and edit, getting more suggestions as needed.”
Google Suggests that the tool not only helps you create creative and tailored job descriptions but can also be used to craft enchanting invitations for your child’s birthday bash. Furthermore, the company is looking into ways to integrate AI tools with Slides, Sheets, Meet, and Chat.

After OpenAI’s ChatGPT jumpstarted the Artificial Intelligence craze in late 2022, many businesses have followed suit. Google is one of those enterprises currently investigating generative AI capabilities for its services. Microsoft has already released a new Bing featuring an AI-driven design and Meta is experimenting with chatbots on platforms such as WhatsApp and Messenger. Grammarly will soon present an AI tool to generate perfect social media posts, emails, etcetera.
Google announced that their AI tools for Workspace apps will be available to a “limited set of trusted testers” in the upcoming weeks before it is accessible to everyone.
Google said, “when it comes to delivering the full potential of generative AI across Workspace, we’re just getting started.”
On Tuesday, Google also presented new AI utilities for developers and businesses, including an app builder that can help businesses create their own AI chatbots.
