Henry Cavill took the stage with Freya Allan, Anta Chalotra and Joey Batey at Netflix’s annual fan event, Tudum, to share a fiery clip from the upcoming Witcher series. The event was in Brazil.
The clip shows Geralt (Cavill), Cirilla (Allan), and Yennefer (Chalotra) joining forces to defeat Viscount de Lettenhove (Batey) and his group of fighters.
In season three of The Witcher, Geralt of Rivia takes Cirilla into hiding to protect her. “Entrusted with Ciri’s magical training, Yennefer leads them to the protected fortress of Aretuza, where they hope to uncover more about the girl’s untapped powers,” the logline reads. “Instead, they discover they’ve landed in a battlefield of political corruption, dark magic and treachery. They must fight back, put everything on the line — or risk losing each other forever.”
This is going to be the last time we see Cavill as Geralt of Rivia. The Witcher four will star Liam Hemsworth in the titular role. Cavill said, “As with the greatest of literary characters, I pass the torch with reverence for the time spent embodying Geralt and enthusiasm to see Liam’s take on this most fascinating and nuanced of men,”
Word was that Cavill will return in DC’s new Superman Movie, but he refuted that claim stating that DC will be showing a younger Clark Kent this time. Interestingly, Henry Cavill is acting in the cinematic adaptation of the game Warhammer 40000. He’ll also be an executive producer on the project. He is a Warhammer enthusiast and his take on the adaptation of the game will be very interesting to see.
As for The Witcher, the first five episodes of season three will be released on Netflix on June 29th, and the rest of the episodes will arrive on July 27th.
