Gyeongseong Creature is a historical fantasy thriller set in the city of Gyeongseong in 1945. The first season of the series, currently in production at Netflix, is written by screenwriter Kang Eun Kyung and directed by Jung Dong Yoon. The series will star Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee among others. This upcoming South Korean thriller has created a lot of anticipation among K-drama fans owing to the amount of talent associated with it.
The writer of this series Kang Eun Kyung is known for his work in K-dramas like Dr. Romantic, Forecasting Love and Weather, and Ghost. Director Jung Dong Yoon previously directed the Netflix series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay which received a lot of love from fans. Story & Pictures Media is in charge of production with Studio Dragon and Kakao Entertainment as co-producers.
Gyeongseong Creature creature is set in a South Korean city in 1945 where individuals are pitted against monstrous creatures born out of human greed. We’ll see Park Seo Joon as the lead character Jang Tae Sang, a wealthy merchant and Han So Hee as Yun Chae Ok, another lead character. Park Seo Joon is well known for his role of Park Sae Roy in k-drama Itaewon Class. Han So Hee was seen in Netflix originals like Abyss, Nevertheless, and My Name.

Apart from these two, the series will feature Kim Su Hyun as Maeda. She’s a familiar face for Harry Potter and Avengers fans. She was seen in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Avengers: The Age of Ultron. She also featured in the Netflix original series Marco Polo.
Netflix hasn’t made an official announcement of the release date for Gyeongseong Creature. The rumor is that it will come out on December 22, 2023. But you can’t really be sure until an official announcement is made.
