Kim Zolciak-Biermann and Kroy Biermann’s divorce proceedings are far from reaching a resolution, according to recently obtained court documents. The former football player, 37, filed documents stating that the couple’s split continues to deteriorate, while they are still living together out of financial necessity.
In the latest filing, Biermann requested the appointment of a guardian ad litem (GAL) to represent their four children in their custody battle. The guardian would act in the children’s best interest and provide a voice for them during the case. The court-appointed guardian can be a legal or a psychological professional.

Biermann claims that he has requested a court-appointed guardian for his children to protect them from the negative effects of the divorce. He accused Zolciak-Biermann, 45, of using abusive and threatening language towards him in front of the children. Biermann also suspects that Kim will use television media to garner support against him in the custody battle.
In response, Zolciak-Biermann’s attorney released a statement in indictment of Kroy’s public discussion of the divorce. The statement highlighted the emotional and mental abuse that Zolciak-Biermann allegedly endured during the marriage. The lawyer said, “To continuously spread lies in an attempt to paint Kim as an unfit mother for his own gain is harmful and incredibly misleading regarding Kim’s efforts to raise her children.”
Meanwhile, Zolciak-Biermann expressed concerns about the safety of their children under Biermann’s care. She wants him to undergo drug tests. She claims to have witnessed him smoking marijuana.
Overall, the divorce is not turning out to be amicable at all. Kim and Kroy have 4 minor children. Kim has two more daughters from other relationships whom Kroy had adopted. Theirs is a big family and it is surely falling apart. As the proceedings continue, the well-being of their children continue to be a major concern. Looks like things will get messier as time passes.
