Sweet Tooth is expected to receive a renewal before the debut of its second season on Netflix, according to What’s on Netflix

Jim Mickle’s Sweet Tooth, adapted from Jeff Lemire’s comic book series, had an outstanding reception when it debuted on Netflix in June 2021. 60 million households were reported to view the show. For two weeks afterward, Sweet Tooth featured prominently within hourly viewership rankings of the top 10 shows.

Christian Convery, Nonso Anozie, Stefania LaVie Owen, and Adeel Akhtar star in the series.

After its initial season’s tremendous success, the show was rewarded with a renewal for another season at the end of July 2021.

Sweet Tooth Season 2 is officially a part of the 2023 lineup on Netflix. Filming began earlier this year and came to an end on June 10th, 2022. 

We estimated that the series would be available between the first and third quarters of 2023.

That brings us to season 3 of Sweet Tooth.

Usually, we have to wait until an entire season has aired on Netflix with several weeks of statistics before a show is renewed. However, Sweet Tooth appears to be the exception as it has already been granted approval for its third season — much sooner than expected.

Numerous sources and contributors involved in the production process have confirmed that Netflix has provided a renewal order in advance.

Numerous cast and crew have been hard at work on Sweet Tooth’s third season ever since late summer 2022, as seen across their CVs and professional profiles. A leading Netflix executive has made a point of including Sweet Tooth season 3 on their profile.

We are uncertain of when and if season 3 of the show will go into full production, and we must wait for Netflix to announce something officially.
