After having all its focus reserved for The Legend of Zelda – Tears of the Kingdom for weeks, Nintendo finally makes some noise about the next big Nintendo Switch release, Pikmin 4. The trailer shows some serious potential. The game is set in the same universe as the previous versions.

The trailer talks about the crash landing of Captain Olimar which old players are well aware of. It then shows a rescue corp which also crash landed on the same planet. Now, it’s your turn to reach the planet and rescue all of them.

The trailer doesn’t hint at the kinds of adventures awaiting the players. But it reveals a very interesting feature – character customization – for the first time in the franchise. You can customize your character by adjusting its outlook, hair, skin tone, head type, and more. If you are into personalization of characters, this will make you feel great.

The trailer promises an interesting story with some high octane visuals. If you are a Pikmin fan, this game is surely going to get you super excited. Shigeru Miyamoto, the creator of Mario, has also created the Pikmin series.

The real time strategy game was first released on Nintendo GameCube in 2001. Since then, there have been 3 games and 2 spinoffs of Pikmin – Hey! Pikmin and Pikmin Bloom. Pikmin is also the only non-Mario series to be represented in Japan’s Super Nintendo World.

For those who are uninitiated, Pikmin is a popular real-time strategy and puzzle video game series created by Shigeru Miyamoto and developed by Nintendo. In the earlier Pikmin games, players controlled a character named Captain Olimar, who crash-lands on an unknown planet and enlists the help of plant-like creatures called Pikmin to collect ship parts and return home. In the new game, the player is supposed to rescue Captain Olimar and the rescue corps.
