DaniLeigh, the musician whose real name is Danielle Curiel, was taken into custody by police at around 2 am on Tuesday. She was spotted speeding on a gray Mercedes-Benz when she allegedly hit a moped rider. According to the bystanders, her car dragged the moped for a whole block as she kept driving. She did not stop even after some bystanders tried to bring it to her attention that her car was dragging a vehicle.
One of the bystanders called the police and an officer eventually got DaniLeigh to stop. One being confronted she denied having taken alcoholic beverages or having hit anyone. According to the officer, “her motor skills were sluggish” and there was a passenger in the car who too seemed highly intoxicated.
DaniLeigh agreed to perform field sobriety tests and failed in them after which she was arrested and taken to the Miami Beach breath testing room. She took two breathalyzer tests. The tests showed breath alcohol levels of 0.148 and 0.145, both more than twice the legal limit.

DaniLeigh has been cited for “leaving the scene of a crash without rendering care”, driving under influence, and the property damage related to the incident. The motorist who fell victim to the incident has suffered two “non-life-threatening injuries: a kidney laceration and a spinal fracture.”
Notably, the charges brought against DaniLeigh can result in a penalty of $1000 – $10,000 along with 1-2 years in jail. It could have been much worse for the singer had the motorist suffered life-threatening injuries.
