The Lara Croft Collection has finally arrived on Nintendo Switch. It compiles two classic top-down action-adventure games – Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, and its sequel, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris. The games are developed by Feral Interactive and published by Crystal Dynamics. These games offer thrilling adventures filled with puzzles, platforming, and, of course, the iconic tomb raider herself. You can tell that these games are old while playing on Switch, but the experience nonetheless.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light was originally released in 2010. It takes players on an isometric journey with Lara searching for the mysterious Mirror of Smoke. She’s joined by the guardian of the mirror, Totec, and she must stop the ancient demon Xolotl from destroying the world. The two-player co-op mode allows for seamless teamwork between Totec and Lara. The game lets players cycle through various weapons, drop bombs, and discover idols and artifacts for permanent buffs.

The isometric viewpoint and fixed camera can, however, cause some problems especially during the platforming segments. It can frustrate you particularly on the handheld mode of switch as the characters appear quite small on the screen.

The other game, Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris was released in 2014. This one supports up to four players Lara teams up with Egyptian gods, Horus and Isis, to recover the scattered pieces of Osiris before the evil god Set can find them. You get introduced to a magical staff and some new equipment for Lara.

The Lara Croft Collection includes 7 DLC packs across both titles. The Deus Ex themed skin pack for the second game enhances the overall content and provides players with additional adventures. The engaging gameplay and rewarding puzzles make up for the aged visuals while playing the Lara Croft Collection on Nintendo Switch.
