Set in the culturally and socially diverse area of Canaryville on Chicago’s South Side, John Wells’ series ‘Shameless’, an adaptation from Paul Abbott’s award-winning British TV show, is a slice-of-life tragicomedy. The Gallagher family takes centre stage as we are taken on a rollercoaster journey through their lives; full of highs and lows and more than its share of surprises.
As Frank Gallagher scans the horizon for imminent catastrophes, he finds his life crumbling around him in a continuous spiral of grief following the death of his wife. His children are growing apart from him as well, and with his perpetual intoxication, there’s nothing to stop it.
The series has achieved a remarkable feat, having aired for eleven seasons since its debut in January 2011, making it the longest-running scripted show to ever grace broadcast television. According to network reports, viewers have continued to be delighted by this beloved program throughout all these years.
Shameless Season 12 Release Date
Although Shameless Season 11 aired with the announcement that there would not be another season, history has proven that this does not necessarily mean the end of a series. There have been cases in which programmes were renewed despite initial cancellation announcements due to fan demand or other reasons, meaning expectations may still exist for Shameless Season 12.
If a 12th season is not on the cards, there’s always an opportunity for cast reunions or one-of-a-kind episode content. Unfortunately, Showtime hasn’t confirmed their plans yet, so fans can only hope that it will be renewed, even though chances are slim.
Shameless Season 12 Plot
While there is no indication of what storyline the upcoming 12th season of Shameless will take, its makers have already announced that the 11th season will be the last one to air. This means we won’t get a chance to witness any new installments in this show anytime soon.
Fans of Shameless were less than thrilled with the eleventh season, as character development was heavily unbalanced and unsatisfactory. Viewers felt disenchanted since, out of all the characters in the show, only Frank saw any major growth. Meanwhile, other characters remained stagnant throughout the entire series.
The Gallaghers still have much to uncover that wasn’t explored in the prior 11 seasons. Before a potential 12th season, these unresolved issues must be addressed first. Until we get confirmation on whether or not Shameless will be renewed, it is impossible to speculate on what its plot could entail.
