The Star Wars: Ahsoka series is highly anticipated and Disney has finally set a date for its release. Ahsoka will premiere on August 23rd on Disney+ across the globe. Disney has dropped two trailers so far while also revealing the cast and the directorial team.
Dave Filoni who originally created the character of Ahsoka Tano for Clone Wars has written all the episodes for the new series. According to sources, he has also directed certain episodes. Other members of the directorial team are Peter Ramsey, Steph Green, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.
Star Wars: Ahsoka is set in the same timeline as The Mandalorian with references to its prequels. The character of Ahsoka first appeared in the Clone Wars cartoon and then in Star Wars: Rebels. The character made its first live action appearance in season two of The Mandalorian and season one of The Book of Boba Fett.

The new series will feature a bunch of characters from Rebels. Some of those characters will be making their first appearance in live action. Ahsoka will be played by Rosario Dawson. Lars Mikkelsen will bring the franchise villain Grand Admiral Thrawn to life. Natasha Liu Bordizzo will appear as Sabine Wren, Hera Syndulla will be played by Mary Elizabeth Winsteadm and Eman Esfandi will play Exra Bridger.
Other notable cast members are David Tennant, Diana Lee Inosanto and the late Ray Stevenson who passed away last month. Overall, the upcoming Star Wars series is going to be all the rage with an explosive cast.
There’s a rumor that Hayden Christensen will make an appearance as Anakin Skywalker. Remember, Ahsoka, a former Jedi knight was Anakin Skywalker’s pupil before the latter started to execute Jedi Padawans and blow up planets.
