Stylish Looks with Chelsea Boots

Chelsea boots are the perfect choice for cool weather in spring and autumn. For almost 200 years of existence, this model of shoes has had many variations, but one thing remains unchanged: these are high boots without laces with rubber inserts on the sides. Until now, this is one of the most universal and comfortable types of shoes — Chelsea are suitable for both formal and casual wardrobe, protect your feet from water and dirt in the off-season and refer to the Victorian era and the 1960s at the same time.

Where did Chelsea’s shoes come from?

Chelsea is one of the few items that migrated to the men’s wardrobe from the women’s. In the 1830s, a model without lacing with rubberized fabric on the sides was created for Queen Victoria: her Majesty was fond of horse riding and loved long walks. So, the English shoemaker Joseph Sparks-Hall created a model that would be convenient to quickly put on and take off. Following Victoria, such boots were worn by soldiers of the British cavalry, and later they became a fashion trend in “civilian” London. Then, thanks to their convenience, Chelsea boots (that also called “paddock boots”),  gained popularity throughout the whole Europe and even became part of the uniform of the Austro-Hungarian army.

During its existence, this shoes has undergone many changes. Nevertheless, classic models of dark shades on thin soles can be worn with suits, brown one suits a set of jeans and thin knitwear. However, it is important to remember that it is better to choose narrow or at least narrowed trousers and jeans for such shoes. Nevertheless, there are also more relaxed models made of suede and leather with thick soles, that can be worn with straight jeans, cargo pants or wide chinos. They are also good comlements with a hoodie and, for example, a waxed jacket. So, let’s speak more detailed about stylish looks with this shoes.

  • A pantsuit

An accent pair of shoes with a massive sole will help diversify the usual everyday and office outfit. For example, a strict suit with trousers will play in a new way if you complement it with trendy rough Chelsea boots. You can also add a basic turtleneck and a neutral minimalist bag, and you will get a balanced fashionable look.

  • Fur coat

Wear Chelsea boots with massive soles to create a relaxed look with a knitted suit or jeans and a fur coat. As an additional accent, you can use a textured bag on a chain and an unusual headdress, such as a leather panama hat.

  • Knitted suit

You can choose a pair both in tone and in contrasting color. For example, if you have a cream knit suit, then brown, gray or black shoes are ideal. With dark sets, you can wear black, light gray or white shoes to lighten the bottom.

  • Monochrome

Monochrome look in black tones is a win decision for any occasion. So, that it doesn’t look too simple, you can complement it with unobtrusive accents, for example: rough Chelsea with colored soles, a bag and a matching hat.

  • Long down jacket

A long down jacket is a rather voluminous and massive outerwear that will warm you in the most bad weather. To finish your look, you can combine it with high Chelsea boots on a rough tractor sole. A good decision here is to pick up trousers or jeans that perfectly match the shoes.

  • A cropped jacket

What to wear with women’s rough Chelsea boots, so that the winter look will not too voluminous? Try to combine them with a shortened puffed jacket. As a bottom, choose straight trousers, skinny jeans, a dress or a midi length skirt with a semi-fitting cut.

  • Street style image

Do you want to create a comfortable and trendy casual look? So, take as a basis a turtleneck or a jumper under the throat and cargo pants on a high fit. Throw on a quilted jumper with a lowered shoulder line, and complete the outfit with high rough Chelsea boots and a voluminous long down jacket.

  • Total-look

If you want to stand out on the winter streets, try to create a trendy look consisting of leather things. As a basis, take a classical jumper or a sweater under the throat, complement it with leather trousers and high rough Chelsea, put on a coat made of leather over it and finish the look with a long knitted scarf.

  • A classic coat

A classic long coat will find a new view if you complement it with rough Chelsea boots. Choose a loose-fitting sweater down the throat and neutral jeans. As for accessories, take a small bag with a solid frame, a beanie hat with a lapel and a minimalistic scarf.

So, that is all for today. Have stylish looks and great shopping!
