Taylor Swift has us on the clouds with her new song “Lavender Haze.”
On Thursday, the singer hinted at her music video premiere on Instagram with a message saying “meet me at midnight”. The clip features Swift or someone resembling her seated atop a bed draped in an authentic lavender fog as the chart-topping single plays in the background.
Following the huge success of her music videos for “Anti-Hero” and “Bejeweled,” off her 2022 album “Midnights,” Taylor Swift has released yet another track titled “Lavender Haze” that’s sure to take the world by storm.
In an astounding victory, the award-winning artist’s heartfelt single “Anti-Hero” stayed in the No. 1 spot on Billboard Hot 100 for a remarkable eight weeks – surpassing even their own record of seven weeks with “Blank Space” back in 2014.
Taylor Swift had previously mentioned on Instagram that “Lavender Haze” was inspired by her long-term partner Joe Alwyn. She explained how, in the six years they have been together, they were forced to dodge many bizarre tabloid rumors.
Taylor Swift discussed that “this song is sort of about the act of ignoring that stuff to protect the real stuff” and avoiding anything that might derail it, adding that she was aware of lavender haze being another way to describe being in love.
Taylor Swift stated on Instagram, “The Lavender Haze video is out now. There is lots of lavender. There is lots of haze. There is my incredible costar @laith_ashley who I absolutely adored working with.”
She went on to continue, “This was the first video I wrote out of the 3 that have been released, and this one really helped me conceptualize the world and mood of Midnights, like a sultry sleepless 70’s fever dream. Hope you like it.”
In October 2022, Taylor Swift unveiled her 10th record album entitled Midnights.
