#8 Hereditary (2018)
Hereditary is a dark family drama by Ari Aster that revolves around the nature of grief contained within a horror film. This movie also happens to be his directorial debut for a feature film. Annie and the rest of her family members remain grief-stricken as her mother passes away. But soon, the family starts to encounter strange phenomena and the origin of Annie’s ancestry begins to unravel.
#7 IT (2017)
IT is based on Stephen King’s novel of the same name. The plot of IT goes around an evil shapeshifting clown, Pennywise, who hunts down children. IT was one of highest grossing horror movies of all time breaking the 44-year record of The Exorcist.

#6 Saw (2004)
Although Saw might be associated with the torture genre, it is one of the most disturbing films of all time. Saw doesn’t have a ghost but the movie revolves around a psycho killer who kidnaps people and asks them to complete certain tasks.
