Updates from Samsung Unpacked Event: Reveal of Galaxy S23 Expected

All signs point to Samsung debuting its next-generation Galaxy phones at their upcoming February 1st event

On Wednesday, Samsung will officially launch the Galaxy S23 series with a bang at their Unpacked event. It’s believed that they’ll feature three models: the standard Galaxy S23, its larger sibling, the Galaxy S23 Plus, and lastly, the luxurious Galaxy S23 Ultra. The world awaits to see what wonders this latest line of Android phones has in store for them.

Speculation surrounding the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S23 suggests that it will receive a slew of camera upgrades, as mentioned by T.M. Roh in his January blog post. What’s more, we anticipate the phones will be furnished with Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processors — making them equal competitors for other handsets like OnePlus 11 5G which also houses this mighty chip.

The Galaxy S23 may Feature an Exclusive Snapdragon Processor

Reports suggest that the new Samsung Galaxy S23 series will contain a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip; however, this version may be different from those found in other phones. According to Phone leaker Ice Universe (h/t GSMArena), there is said to be a “high-frequency” edition of the Gen 2 for European markets specifically featured in the Galaxy S23.

Galaxy S23 Ultra Camera Upgrade

The most talked-about rumors are regarding the potential upgrades to the S23 camera. We’re anticipating that Samsung will utilize their 200-megapixel image sensor, which was seen on Xiaomi’s 12T Pro, for their new and improved S23 Ultra. Even with high expectations last year for this massive resolution update in Galaxy S22 Ultra, it never came to fruition.

Will the Price of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Increase?

If you reside in the US, it’s good news for you. Samsung’s upcoming flagship phones will keep their price similar to last year’s Galaxy S22 series. Unfortunately, that won’t be the case for many European countries where prices are expected to rise from current levels.

Roland Quandt, a trusted source for leaks, recently took to Twitter to reveal the prices of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S23 lineup in Spain. According to his post, the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage model will start at 959 euros (approximately $1,040 USD). Furthermore, those interested in snagging the more powerful 12GB RAM with 512 GB storage version can do so for 1,589 euros or approximately £840 or AU$1.480 depending on your region.
