Violet Evergarden is written by Kana Akatsuki and illustrated by Akiko Takase. It is a light Japanese novel that has won the grand prize in the fifth Kyoto Animation Award’s novel segment in 2014. Best Animation Award was given in 2019 at Crunchyroll Anime Awards. Hugely appreciated and found as one of the worth watches, the season was a big hit.
Despite such a great response season, two have not been officially confirmed.
A movie named Violet Evergreen was expected to be launched in April 2020 but the current Corona Virus situation has delayed the launch of the same. Though there is no official announcement of the when movie will be released but like all other projects, we expect to see it in 2021.
If we try being optimistic and think that there will be a season two, the story should be connecting the story of season one. Season two, if it happens should start from where season one left. Season one was much appreciated for its explicit narrative skills and the same should be seen in season two. In the first season, we saw that the story is related to Memory Dolls. It is a story of struggles of an ex-army soldier who starts writing articles touching all aspects of life. Violet Evergarden is a saga of reintegration of society post the war.
Cast and team of season two should have Yui Ishikawa in the pivotal character of Violet, Minako Kotobuki as Isabella and Aoi Yuuki as Taylor. Apart from these, we may see Takehito Koyasu as Claudia and Daisuke Namikawa as Gilbert. We expect to see them all in season two as well.
Till we get to hear more about the series stay safe. We will keep you posted about any new information we get to know from the production house.
