Why Apex Legends is The Best Battle Royale Game

Battle Royale games are pretty popular, and that is all thanks to PUBG. The game gave a boost to their popularity, and developers have been since then trying to come up with their own BR games. However, not all of them have managed to reach the top charts, and some of them have failed miserably as well. Even some top studios have not managed to attract players to their BR games. However, EA was successful in this as Apex Legends is a huge success.

Apex Legends was released a few years ago. The game changed how BR games worked. Previously, we saw the traditional system where players jumped into a match, gathered resources, and fought with each other till the end. Apex changed everything as it introduced stuff that was never seen before. If you’re a fan of Destiny 2, you’ll love this game as well because the shooting mechanics sometimes feel similar. Apex Legends had a bumpy launch, as it attracted millions of players within its first few months, by many left the game because of bugs and glitches. However, its developers managed to fix all of them quickly, and the player base is now close to or more than 100 million. And this number is only increasing every day, as the developers are constantly making improvements to it. Today, I am going to discuss why Apex Legends is the best Battle Royale game today.

The Legends 

First things first, the Legends. Previously, Battle Royale games didn’t provide us with the luxury to choose our own characters. And by characters, I mean the ones with abilities and other stats. However, Apex Legends lets players choose from more than 10 characters called Legends, and each has its own set of unique abilities that can assist players during the match.

For instance, I personally love to use Octane as this guy is the Flash of Apex. His quick movement helps me reach my destination quickly. Furthermore, his Tactical Ability lets him inject something into himself, thanks to which his speed further increases for a short period. This is perfect for times when your teammate is getting pinned down by the enemy squad, and you need to reach him quickly. He can also deploy a Jump Pad using his Ultimate Ability, which can help him and his teammates reach the top of buildings quickly.

Other than Octane, I also like to use Wraith at times. This is mostly because her abilities focus on both herself and her teammates. She can disappear into the “void” using her Tactical Ability, and during this time, no one can hit her. This can prove to be useful when you’re low on health and want to make a quick escape. As for her Ultimate ability, it lets her create a portal that everyone can use, even the enemy squad. Other than these two Legends, there are plenty more for you to choose from, including ones that can create Toxic Gas and call down an Airstrike on the enemy squad.

Map Changes 

Apex Legends players get to enjoy a new Season after every few months. The developers add a lot of content to the game through updates. While we have seen the introduction of new maps through some of these updates, all of them make some changes to the already existing maps as well. And these changes aren’t small as the entire map sometimes gets a makeover.

The changes help players with maintaining their interest in the game, as they make you feel as if you’re playing the game for the first time. The changes also introduce new locations that players can visit on the same map, so it’s pretty amazing. Warzone also followed EA’s footsteps as it also makes changes to its maps from time to time. 

Unique Weapons 

It is true that every Battle Royale game has its own set of weapons, but the kind of weapons offered by Apex Legends are unique and not found anywhere else. The game has every type of weapons available, such as Assault Rifles, Shotguns, Snipers, and many more. In other words, you can choose a weapon for any range.

I personally love to carry around the R-301 Assault Rifle and the R-99 SMG. The R-400 combination is pretty amazing, as the R-301 is perfect for both mid-range and close-range combat, while the R-99 SMG is for extremely close-range situations where you’re up close and personal with the enemy. Its fire rate is amazing and it can help you take down the enemy within seconds; that is if you’re accurate with your shots. 

Seasonal Events 

Apex Legends also hosts different events from time to time, and these events bring a lot of new content to the game. This includes exclusive weapon skins, game modes, and some other stuff. Most of these events happen during Christmas, Halloween, and other similar occasions. 

Conclusion 

These were some of the reasons that make Apex Legends the best battle royale game in the world. Some of you might disagree with this, and that is okay. The choice varies from player to player, and you might find some other Battle Royale game better than this one. However, I think we all can agree on the fact that Apex Legends is unique, and there is no other game like it. The most interesting thing about it is its lore, as there is a backstory attached to every Legend present in the game.
