OpenAI has officially launched GPT-5, the most advanced version of its AI system, and it is now available to all users, including free users. The OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman, said:
“We designed the GPT-5 to be smarter, more reliable, and more truthful.”
He added, “India is quickly becoming one of OpenAI’s biggest markets. It is currently the second biggest user after the US and could soon become number one.”
“India is full of creators, developers, and students who are using AI in amazing ways,” said Altman. “We want the GPT-5 to be affordable and useful for everyone there.”
Recent Upgrades for GPT-5
Smarter Thinking
GPT-5 is advanced at solving hard problems and makes fewer mistakes than the older versions. If it doesn’t know something, it just says it. It doesn’t make a hypothetical answer.
That’s why it’s so helpful for students, teachers, and anyone who just wants clear and correct answers they can trust.
Upgraded Coding
One of the biggest upgrades in GPT-5 is how well it handles coding. It can write and fix code more accurately than before. You can simply tell it what you want, and it can help build apps, websites, or even games.
“We’ve seen people using GPT-5 to code projects in minutes that would normally take hours,” Altman shared. “It’s powerful, but also simple enough for anyone to use.”
New Personalities for a Better Chat Experience
To make conversations feel more personal, GPT-5 now lets users choose from four personality styles.
GPT-5 lets you choose a personality; the Cynic is sarcastic, the Robot is formal and clear. The Listener is warm and friendly and the Nerd loves deep facts and explanations. This gives you more control over how it talks to you.
Safer and Smoother Conversations
OpenAI has also worked hard to make GPT-5 safer. It now gives thoughtful, helpful replies even on sensitive topics. It tries to avoid giving harmful or false information.
If users hit their daily usage limit, the system quietly switches to a smaller version so the chat does not stop.
Plans and Pricing
Free users can use GPT-5 but with a limited trial; after that, it automatically switches to a lighter version. ChatGPT Plus costs $20 a month and gives faster, more reliable access. The Pro plan is $200 and includes full access to GPT-5 with more features and higher limits.
Some long-time users have noted that the model picker is gone. This means users can no longer switch between different AI versions manually.
Know More
Completion is increasing, and upon the launch of the GPT-5, Elon Musk made a statement, “Grok’s existing version is more useful and helpful than the GPT-5.”
Stay tuned to see what’s coming next and how well GPT-5 handles the tasks.
