The most dramatic show on TV is also the most dramatic show in the TV business. The popular Western on Paramount Network, Yellowstone, should be coasting into a record-breaking finale, but it’s more like an unruly bronco. The popular program has been off the air since January 2023 for Season 5, but there’s a new theory that suggests the producers aren’t quite ready to put down their cowboy boots just yet. Let’s keep track of what we know about Yellowstone’s return while we wait to see how everything turns out.
Star Kevin Costner has moved on to a new passion project, a Western film series, and will not be appearing in the second half of Season 5. On a brighter note, work on Yellowstone Season 5 has picked back up and is now underway, and the studio has even established a release date for the second half of the season. Plus, there will be more installments of the series soon.
Concerning the flagship series, there are still a great deal of unresolved matters. An outbreak of a terrible disease is threatening the Duttons’ cattle in Montana, and the Duttons’ civil war has broken out between Jamie (Wes Bentley) and Beth (Kelly Reilly). John (Costner) is now in jeopardy of being impeached.
Two years after the first broadcast of Yellowstone Season 5 Part 1, the second half of the season will air on Paramount Network and Paramount+ on November 10, 2024. The second portion will air once a week and consist of six episodes (including the series finale).
How Many Episodes Are There in ‘Yellowstone’ Season 5 Part 2?
There will be a total of fourteen episodes in Yellowstone Season 5, making it the longest season of the show since its 2018 debut. The show’s prior seasons all had no more than ten episodes. There are two halves to Yellowstone Season 5. The first half, consisting of eight episodes, broadcast from November 13, 2022, until January 1, 2023. When the program returns this summer, the second half of the six-episode run will be published. Keep checking back for more information on the final six episodes of Yellowstone Season 5 Part 2.
Who are the creators of ‘Yellowstone’?
Taylor Sheridan, an actor and director, and John Linson, a television and film producer, are the brains behind the popular Western drama series. Aside from Yellowstone, Sheridan has written for other television series, including Tulsa King, Bass Reeves, Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, 1923, Hell or High Water, and Sicario, among others. Famous films and TV shows that Linson has produced include Great Expectations (1998), Lords of Dogtown, The Runaways, and The Comedian, as well as 1883 and 1923.
Kevin Costner, Art Linson, Bob Yari, Stephen Kay, David C. Glasser, and Linson are all executive producers of Yellowstone, which also features Sheridan and Linson. The series’ score is written by Breton Vivian and Brian Tyler, while the cinematography is done by Ben Richardson, who won an Emmy for his work on Beasts of the Southern Wild, Fault in Our Stars, and Mare of Easttown, among others.
What will happen in “Yellowstone” Season 5, Part 2?
There must be a settlement to the civil conflict inside the Dutton family. The two main characters, Kelly Reilly’s Beth and Wes Bentley’s Jamie are actively working to bring each other down. Jamie, the attorney general of Montana, has requested an impeachment vote against his father, the governor, on allegations of abuse of authority. In return, Beth warned that if he revealed that he had murdered his biological father, it would destroy him. If one of the siblings speaks out, it will lead to mutually assured destruction since Jamie knows that John has killed many people and knows where their remains are buried, which is the so-called “train station” on the Wyoming border.
Both of them think that killing each other is the only way to stop the conflict. So, John has authorized Beth to assassinate Jamie, and Jamie has arranged for a hitman to eliminate Beth. There will soon be a decisive confrontation.
Rip, Beth’s husband (Cole Hauser), and a few other ranch hands are transferring the cattle from the Dutton Ranch to the 6666 Ranch in Texas to keep them safe from a disease epidemic. Would that be the setup for the spinoff? The program will most likely be set in Texas if Matthew McConaughey is going to feature in it. Let’s wait and watch!
