During today’s State of Play stream, Larian unveiled the incredible new RPG
At today’s Sony State of Play 2023, Larian Studios announced that Baldur’s Gate 3 will be launching on August 31st, 2023. It will also be available for PS5.
They announced the release date with a brand new trailer that showcased various character classes, splitscreen multiplayer scenes, and battles. It also featured J.K. Simmons as General Ketheric Thorm, the antagonist of the game.
Swen Vincke, the director of the game, told the PlayStation blog, “Ketheric is a man with complex ambitions and motivations, so in searching for his voice, we knew we needed to work with a renowned character actor who could deliver the kind of nuanced performance we were looking for – so we decided to cast J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, Spider-Man). While we expected it, we were still amazed at how much his performance helped deepen the character. We’ll introduce you to two more antagonists over the coming months – keep an eye out.”

Larian Studios also announced the protagonist of its upcoming game, Baldur’s Gate 3. But that’s not all, they are also introducing split-screen co-op and controller support. It doesn’t end there either. Players can look forward to two special editions of the game: a Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition.
After being announced in 2019, Baldur’s Gate 3 promises to be the long-awaited sequel of BioWare’s famed RPGs from the ’90s. Larian Studios is in the process of developing the game. They are the OG creators who also achieved success with their Divinity: Original Sin series.
Prepare to experience Baldur’s Gate 3 on PC and PlayStation 5.
