Chris Martin and Dakota Johnson seem to be taking their relationship one step further. The couple, who started dating around six years ago, has reportedly gotten engaged with the blessings and support of Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, and their children, Apple and Moses.
According to an exclusive report from The Mirror, a source close to the couple said,
The couple got engaged a while ago and have kept the news private. But now they are being open about it with their circles. They have been besotted with each other from day one, so taking this next step was inevitable. They are in no rush to plan the wedding but are just enjoying making their commitment official.
Further, the Fifty Shades of Grey actress also sparked engagement rumors in October last year when she was spotted wearing a wedding ring on her 34th birthday in Los Angeles. In a recent interview with the Bustle magazine, Dakota talked about motherhood. She was asked,
Do you like being a stepmom?
Responding to that, she said,
I love those kids like my life depends on it. With all my heart.
Moreover, Dakota answered the question,
How do you feel about motherhood?
The actress said,
I’m so open to that. I’ve gotten to this place where I really want to experience everything that life has to offer.
She implied that, as a woman, it is a magical thing to become a mom, and that experience of happiness seems pretty wild and crazy to her.
Chris and Dakota’s relationship became every fan’s favorite after the 47-year-old Coldplay star split up with Gwyneth. Since 2017, their bond has steadily strengthened, and they have stayed committed to each other, which is evident from Dakota’s remarks and also because the singer reportedly gifted her a commitment ring in 2020.
