Anime has become a global favorite, crossing borders and entertaining millions. Dan Da Dan, an adaptation of Manga, has become one of Netflix’s biggest successes since its release in 2024.
Dan Da Dan was featured on Netflix’s weekly global top 10 for over 12 weeks and garnered approximately 34.10 million views during that time. No doubt, the OTT giant wants to bring it back for season 2. Yes, Netflix has announced the release of Dan Da Dan Season 2 on 3 July 2025.
Dan Da Dan Story & Cast
Japanese animation studio Science Saru created the Dan Da Dan anime, based on a manga by author Yukinobu Tatsu. The story revolves around two high school friends, Momo, who believes in ghosts, and Okarun, who believes in aliens. But they both banish each other’s beliefs. Here comes the twist: Momo soon crosses paths with aliens, and Okarun meets with a ghost named Turbo Granny. These sci-fi and supernatural encounters lead them to a grand adventure where they battle Acrobatic Silky, save friends, explore romance, and so many more adventures.
Season 1 of the series ends on Chapter 35 of the manga, when the group goes to investigate Jiji’s haunted home. Also, Momo visits a hot springs town that is disturbed by creeps.
The cast consists of voice actors Shion Wakayama, who voices Momo, and Natsuki Hanae, who voices Okarun. The other voice artists of the original Japanese version include Mayumi Tanaka (Turbo Granny), Kazuya Nakai (Alien Serpo), Kikuko Inoue (Acrobatic Silky), among others like Ayane Sakura, Nana Mizuki, and Kaito Ishikawa.
Dan Da Dan Season 2 Release Date & Storyline
Season 2 is set to release on 3 July 2025 on Netflix and Hulu. The second season will consist of 12 episodes, globally, so all fans can enjoy watching at the same time. The new season will open with the horrifying Cursed House arc, Jiji’s family home.
Though Season 1 was undoubtedly entertaining, Season 2 promises more backstory on Jiji, deeper emotional stakes, and a complex relationship between Jiji and Okarun. This upcoming season will offer its fans more romance, more adventure, and more action. The ghosts and aliens will remain in the forefront, but the slow-burning romance between Momo and Okarun will also unfold. The chemistry between the two is one of the most exciting parts of this series, besides action-packed adventures.

The Season 2 trailer is already available on Netflix Anime’s YouTube channel. The 1.52 trailer packs enough adventures and fun that it has the fans already pumped for the new season.
The trailer, launched in May 2025, has already garnered 260K views and over 450 comments, where fans are discussing their excitement for the new season.
July 2025 is going to be a busy month for Netflix, with many releases already lined up, including Dan Da Dan Season 2. The anime fans are already pumped up and can’t wait for the weekly episode launch. Dan Da Dan’s 2024 hit was not surprising at all, with all its lively characters, unique plot twists, and dynamic direction.
Season 2 will be no less. As the trailer suggests, the newer episodes will delve deeper into relationship dynamics, character building, and greater adventures.
