Netflix Adaptating Elin Hilderbrand Novel ‘The Perfect Couple’ into a Series

Netflix is making a limited series based on Elin Hilderbrand’s novel ‘The Perfect Couple’

21 Laps Entertainment, the production company that made Stranger Things and Shadow and Bone just signed a deal with Netflix. This means they will be making a show based on Elin Hilderbrand’s The Perfect Couple novel. 

Jenna Lamia (Good Girls, Resident Alien) will lead The Perfect Couple project as showrunner and executive producer. Furthermore, Elin Hilderbrand, author of the book from which this series draws its inspiration, will join her in the same capacity with their combined oversight to ensure success.

Shawn Levy (The Adam Project) and Josh Barry from 21 Laps Entertainment are the executive producers of Netflix’s upcoming release, ‘The Perfect Couple’. Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady of The Jackal Group (creator of Netflix’s Wednesday Addams & Elvis series) are also involved in the project.

The Perfect Couple Plot

Netflix’s upcoming series, The Perfect Couple is based on bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand’s novel from 2018. Here’s a summary of the plot.

The summer season on Nantucket is known for having a lot of weddings. You might see a bride running through Main Street or at Madaket Beach when the sun is setting. The Otis-Winbury Wedding will be very special because the groom’s rich parents are hosting it in their fancy seaside house.

In a shocking turn of events, tragedy strikes on the eve of a wedding ceremony when a body is discovered in Nantucket Harbor. Everyone involved with the wedding becomes suspects, and Chief Ed Kapenash must investigate further to determine who is responsible for such an irrevocable crime.

To uncover the truth from everyone, the police will need to interview people. This includes the bride and groom, as well as members of their families — even the famous mystery-novelist mother of the groom. This shows that even though a marriage may seem perfect, there are always hidden secrets.
