Peacemaker Season 2 is finally here. The new Season started yesterday, on 21 August 2025, and the episodes will be available on HBO Max. Season 2 consists of 8 episodes. What Happened in Peacemaker Season 1?
Season 1 introduced us to Christopher Smith, better known as Peacemaker. He is a mercenary who believes peace is worth any cost, even if it takes violence to get there. John Cena nails the role with hilarious humor and his acting.
We also get to meet his kinky team. Leota Adebayo, Vigilante, Emilia Harcourt, and John Economos fight alongside him. Together, they battle alien butterflies while Chris faces his painful past and violent father.
The show mixes wild action, sharp comedy, and touching moments. Fan’s favorite moment is when Peacemaker mocks the Justice League without fear. It shows his wild and bold side perfectly.
The ending was powerful. Chris saved the world from the aliens. But he didn’t find peace. He still carries guilt and sees visions of his father.
What is in Season 2?
Season 2 of Peacemaker brings more action, drama, and emotion as Chris deals with the results of his past actions. He discovers a parallel universe in which his life looks better. This gets him thinking about who he truly is and what he desires.
James Gunn scripted all the episodes and directed three of them. Along with John Cena, many actors from Season 1 are returning.

These new faces promise more chaos, laughs, and action for Chris and his crew.
Behind the Scenes
Filming was delayed because James Gunn became co-CEO of DC Studios and worked on other projects. But shooting started again in Atlanta, alongside the filming of the Superman movie. Gunn’s style of mixing fun, violence, and emotion continues this season.

What About Peacemaker Season 3?
Is Peacemaker getting a Season 3? Well, nothing is officially confirmed yet. But James Gunn has given a hint. He even mentioned turning the story into a “quadrilogy,” which means there could be a lot more Peacemaker adventures ahead.
