Netflix has recently announced that the highly popular third season of “Alice in Borderland” is coming soon for its fans. This Japanese thriller adapted from Haro Aso’s manga narrates the story of characters trapped in a deserted Tokyo who are bound to participate in risky games for their survival. 

The first season of this show was available on Netflix on December 10, 2020, and received positive feedback from the audience. It encouraged the makers of the streaming platform the series was renewed just after two weeks of release. 

The second season of Alice in Borderland was released on December 22, 2022. Fans must wait for season three to find out the show’s ending. Here’s everything we currently know about the possibility of Alice in Borderland season three.

When Is The Season 3 Release Scheduled?

There are a few rumours about the possibility of a season three for Alice in Borderland as per where the season ended. Yet, neither Netflix nor the makers officially confirmed season 3 of Alice in Borderland. However, fans are quite optimistic about the next season as many of the storylines are yet to explore and are left loose. 

Fans are eagerly waiting for two years for the next season two and anticipating that season three can be released around Christmas in 2024. As per the sources, Netflix is still unsure about the continuation of the third season of Alice in Borderland. One of the possible reasons behind this dilemma is that Season 2 has already covered the original storyline of the manga.

If Netflix leads to renewing the show, they must expand the storyline with the main characters Arisu and Usagi with a new tangent that needs a creative angle. In the second season’s conclusion, the gamemaster presented a surprising twist in Joker’s card just when Arisu and his partners were near the successful escape. So, to see what is next move and what lies ahead for the exhausted gamers who simply believed their return to reality, season 3 is most awaited by its fans.

Cast Of Season 3 Of Alice In Borderland: 

In Alice in Borderland season one, the two-surprise characters Niragi and Aguni, who the audience believed were dead, returned in season two. This character survived in season 2, even after certain severe injuries. With this, they confirmed their return in season three. However, Tatta’s character is not returning, as he was buried in the season as per the storyline.

Arisu and Usagi are still surviving and will join in season 3 despite facing blasts, attacks, and other life-threatening situations, Aya Asahina, Nijirô Murakami, and Ayaka Miyoshi’s characters, Kuina, Chishiya, and Ann, respectively, are fighting with their talent and making their place secure in their roles. 

In addition, newcomer Yuri Tsunematsu portraying the role of Heiya is making a new addition to the cast, and her survival shows her potential return. Riisa Naka portraying Mira Kano is interested in returning in the third season.

Projected Plot Of Alice In Borderland Season 3: 

In the previous two seasons of Alice in Borderland covering the complete storyline of manga, Alice in Borderland Season 3 can have infinite prospects. In the final episode of the season, the Joker card is revealed, which, according to the manga, represents the Ferryman and is responsible for returning the group to the real world. 

The involvement of the Joker card hints that the game is quite complex and prevents their escape from the group to the real world. Riisa Naka, playing the character of Mira Kano, mentioned in an interview that “ghost of Hatter” might have a comeback in season 3 with a fresh storyline. Also, season 3 can move with a story where Alice in Borderland repeats manga, taking several years of a leap of returning after the original story started.
