Dead Boy Detectives is a horror comedy series that will be released on Netflix on April 25, 2024. It stars George Rexstrew and Jayden Revri in the lead roles. The actors will play the roles of Edwin and Charles, respectively. Meanwhile, they will play best friends who refused to enter the afterlife after their deaths and chose to stay on earth to solve supernatural mysteries.

Dead Boy Detectives is an upcoming American supernatural horror detective-comedy. The titular duo was first mentioned in Neil Gaiman’s DC comics with the same name. People say that everything happens for a reason; we do not tend to believe it. But Dead Boy Detectives has proven that maybe everything happens for a reason. Viewers’ anticipation was also scrapped along with the title from HBO Max. Nevertheless, the series will now bring its uniqueness to streaming giant Netflix and has become a part of The Sandman universe. To learn more about Dead Boy Detectives’ release date, cast, trailer, plot, and more, keep reading.

What would Dead Boy Detectives be about?

This upcoming series has a very intriguing plot. It follows the story of two boys, Charles Rowland and Edwin Paine, who, even after dying, are reluctant to enter the afterlife. Thus, they stay on earth and embark on a journey to investigate supernatural cases as detectives.

The description of the series states:

Edwin and Charles are best friends, ghosts… and the best detectives on the Mortal plane. They will do anything to stick together – including escaping evil witches, Hell and Death herself. With the help of a clairvoyant named Crystal and her friend Niko, they are able to crack some of the mortal realm’s most mystifying paranormal cases.

Is the trailer out for Dead Boy Detectives?

Netflix dropped the official trailer for the series on April 3, 2024. Ahead of the premiere of the eight-episode first season, we saw a glimpse of what actually awaits us. Since the whole setup of the series is apparently dark, the trailer also has a dark tone. Nevertheless, since our lead characters are best friends, the show also has a fun side. In the trailer, the duo also announces,

We help ghosts whose cases would go unsolved, the cases no one else can.
