Disney's Gargoyles Remastered Set to Hit Nintendo Switch This October

Gargoyles Remastered, developed by Empty Clip Studios is an attempt to reintroduce a classic into the gaming world. The game was first announced last September, and excitement has been building ever since. Disney has confirmed the game’s release with a brand new trailer. Mark your calendars, Gargoyles Remastered drops on Xbox One, PS4,Nintendo Switch, and Steam on October 19th.

The original Gargoyles game was released in 1995 for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. Players had to step into the shoes of Goliath, the leader of the Gargoyles. The 2D platformer loosely followed the show’s plot.

Now, “Gargoyles Remastered” includes a hand-drawn art style reminiscent of the show, improved sound effects, and accessibility features like a rewind function. To the relief of fans who actually liked the classic animation better than what was shown in the trailer, there is an option to instantly switch graphics to the old version.

Here’s a story overview for those who are uninitiated.

“Journey through one thousand years of legend as Goliath, leader of the Gargoyles. Stone by day, warriors by night, the Gargoyles are sworn protectors against the evil Eye of Odin and all who seek to use its immense powers to control the world. While on your journey, battle armies of Viking Warriors in ancient Scotland and smash relentless hordes of menacing robots in modern-day Manhattan. The fate of the Gargoyles and humanity is up to you. Your quest – find and destroy the Eye of Odin before it destroys the world!”

Playing as the fearless leader of the Gargoyles, you’ll scale buildings, glide through the air, and perform mid-air attacks and hand-to-hand combat. Some new features include instant rewind, and achievement hunting.

This is a massive opportunity for retro gaming enthusiasts. The excitement is brewed up. And it is not as much for the remastered animation as for the re-introduction of this timeless classic. Pre-orders are open.
