The Summer Months are always known to be a little slower for new games’ release. And while other games are currently keeping many players busy, now is also a good time to jump back into some older games you may have missed. So, it’s well-timed that Epic Games is offering Homeworld: Desert of Kharak for free this month to gamers.

If you are unaware, the game was released in 2016, 17 years after its prequel real-time strategy video game Homeworld Meanwhile, the popular game is set on the deserted planet of Kharak. The popular game explores the series of events that took place years before the original game development. Although the game has turned 7 years older, it keeps up with the charm and new-age gaming.

Soon after the 90s release of Homeworld, the series is widely appreciated for its gaming and plot. With its popularity,  the original developer Relic Entertainments released two more games, an expansion to earlier and a brand new sequel.

However, later THQ suffered a major setback and later Gearbox Software saved the series by buying its rights (2013). Soon after the Gearbox, they launched Deserts of Kharak.  Meanwhile, with the success of Deserts of Kharak, they were planning to release Homeworld 3. Nevertheless, owing to the financial crisis, the game is currently seeing a delay.

Meanwhile, Epic Games is also offering up excellent deals this week including discounts on must-play games and console accessories.

According to the announcement, the popular game can be claimed between 24-31st August. Nevertheless, for access, you need an Epic Games Account. Meanwhile, at that time, you can either browse the game’s page on the website or can access it through the app, Epic Games  Launcher. All you need is to sign in and you can get the game for free. And while none of them can quite compete with “Free Homeworld: Desert of Kharak” they are worth your attention.
