Jeezy and Jeannie Mai's Divorce: A Closer Look at the Reasons Behind Their Split

A source revealed that Jeezy, whose real name is Jay Wayne Jenkins, and Jeannie Mai were not aligned when it came to specific family values and the expectations they had for their relationship. These differences might be at the core of their decision to dissolve their marriage.

Jeezy and Jeannie Mai’s love story began to unfold in early 2019. They officially confirmed their relationship in September 2019 via Instagram. The couple exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia, on March 27, 2021. Their daughter, Monaco, was born in January 2022.

Jeezy is a father to three older children named Jadarius, Shyheim, and Amra from previous relationships. Jeezy has expressed his desire for joint legal custody of their daughter in the divorce documents filed in Fulton County Superior Court.

The court documents reveal that Jeezy and Jeannie Mai had signed a prenuptial agreement the day before their wedding. So, the financial matters may have been settled before the wedding.

Jeannie Mai, who was previously married to actor Freddy Harteis in 2007 and divorced in 2018, shared her thoughts on married life with Jeezy shortly after their wedding. She described it as feeling “1,000 percent” different from their dating days, explaining that the experience of being married in their 40s was marked by delicacy and thoughtfulness.

Now that they’ve decided to part ways over differences in family values, let’s see how they navigate the complexities that come with sharing a child. Nevertheless, the prenup, the content of which isn’t disclosed, may have taken care of a lot of issues beforehand.
