Mayfair Witches, the gothic supernatural drama based on Anne Rice’s best-selling novel, has been renewed for a third season. AMC announced the news on April 9. The new season is expected to be released in late 2026 or early 2027, but there is no official information available. Award-winning writer and producer Thomas Schnauz will join Esta Spalding as co-showrunner for Season 3.
The first season, which aired in 2023, introduced Rowan Fielding (played by Alexandra Daddario), a young neurosurgeon who finds out she is the heir to the powerful Mayfair Witches dynasty. The second season, released in 2024, explores the family’s witchcraft history and introduces the mysterious supernatural being Lasher.
Cast & Plot – What’s New in Mayfair Witches Season 3?
The story has a major geographical shift to Salem and Massachusetts, from New Orleans. The new season will include some never-discussed topics of Salem’s dark legacy and witch trials. Season 3 will also introduce some new ‘spellbound’ witch families.
Welcoming the new co-showrunner, Thomas Schnauz, Spalding said that she is thrilled to welcome Tom to the team for season three. The historically rich twist on the Salem story will be our most delicious promise yet.
Schnauz displayed his excitement, mentioning his reunion with both AMC & Mark Johnson for Mayfair Witches. He also said that the work he has done with Spalding so far has been fun and fantastic, and he hopes it reflects well on the screen, to fans, and new viewers of the show
The show is under pre-production, and the filming will begin in spring 2026.
There is no confirmation of Mayfair Witches Season 3 final cast list yet, but it’s expected that the main cast will return, which includes Alexandra Daddario (Rowan Fielding), Tongayi Chirisa (Ciprien Grieve), and Jack Huston (Lasher). And Harry Hamlin (Cortland Mayfair) & Alysaa Jirrels (Moira Mayfair) from season 2. The cast of the newly introduced Spellbound witch family has not yet been announced.
