Rap mogul Sean Diddy Combs has finally admitted his wrongdoing. Just a few days after CCTV footage of his abuse surfaced on the internet, he has finally taken responsibility.
In the viral clip, he is seen beating and harassing his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016 in a hotel hallway. Responding to that, Diddy issued an apology video on Instagram and called his behavior inexcusable.
The 54-year-old rapper wrote the caption, “I’m truly sorry.”
In the video, he said,
It’s so difficult to reflect on the darkest times in your life, but sometimes you got to do that. I was f—ked up. I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses.
My behavior on that video is inexcusable. I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I’m disgusted.
Diddy added that he is trying to be a better person.
He said,
I was disgusted when I did it. I’m disgusted now. I went and I sought out professional help. I got into going to therapy, going to rehab. I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry.
Notably, before this video surfaced, the rapper was adamantly denying all allegations by Ventura. He called them “offensive and outrageous.”
In addition, he did not admit anything when Cassie filed a lawsuit in November 2023.
Meanwhile, the internet slammed the rapper for beating Ventura, who is now 36 years old, so mercilessly. On the other hand, his fans have also praised him for his admission of guilt.
The video showed Combs dragging and beating Ventura as she sneaked out of the hotel room. Before she could escape, Diddy came out of the room in a towel and thrashed her. As she lies on the ground without any motion, he kicks her several times.
