Courtney Love Says Taylor Swift Is “Not Important,” Criticizes Beyoncé And Lana Del Rey

Courtney Love, in an interview with The Standard, did not hold back from bashing her fellow musicians. In 2021, the 59-year-old American singer got into an online beef with Olivia Rodrigo.

Now, the former Hole singer has called out some of the most popular female artists right now, including Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, and Madonna.

Targeting the long-standing legacy of Taylor Swift, Courtney has said something infuriating to all the Swifties. She said that she finds the fourteen-time Grammy winner ‘boring.’

Taylor is not important. She might be a safe space for girls, and she’s probably the Madonna of now, but she’s not interesting as an artist,

the singer added.

Even after mentioning Madonna as successful as Swift, Courtney also expressed her displeasure with the “Queen of Pop.”

Talking about Madonna, she said,

I don’t like her and she doesn’t like me.

Moreover, she also expressed not liking Lana Del Rey. Courtney told The Standard,

I haven’t liked Lana since she covered a John Denver song, and I think she should really take seven years off.

Up until ‘Take Me Home Country Roads’ I thought she was great. When I was recording my new album, I had to stop listening to her as she was influencing me too much,

she added.

Let’s assume that fans of some of the greatest music artists were not offended until now. But Courtney Love also took a dig at Beyoncé. She mentioned that Queen Bey’s new album ‘Cowboy Carter’ was good for

black women going into spaces where previously only white women have been allowed.

Even after appreciating the symbolism behind Beyoncé’s country songs, she said that she did not like it.

As a concept, I love it. I just don’t like her music,

Courtney said.

In the industry where musicians gracefully appreciate each other, especially women, Courtney Love targeted the whole group without any second thought.

she said,

Now, every successful woman is cloned, so there is just too much music. They’re all the same. If you play something on Spotify, you get bombarded with a lot of stuff that’s exactly the same,
