cTaylor Swift Supports Helene’s Relief and Hurricane Milton’s Efforts; Donates $5 Million
The singer and celebrity, Taylor Swift, has decided to join the Hurricane Helene and Milton efforts in relief funding.
On Wednesday, Feeding America announced via its social media post that Taylor Swift has donated $5 million to the organization, which aids South Carolina, North Carolina, Florida, and Georgia as the hurricanes accelerate the destruction.
The statement read, “This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms.”
It added, “Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead. Thank you, Taylor, for standing with us in the movement to end hunger and for helping communities in need.”
Additionally, Morgan Wallen made an appearance at the foundation’s food drive in Knoxville, Tennessee, for helping and contributing to Hurricane Helene relief efforts.
Moreover, on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Tennessee and the Morgan Wallen Foundation, held a food drive nearby Dick’s House of Sport to collect donations and help the affected communities.
According to the local news station WBIR, Wallen talked with the victims and the organization’s volunteers who were present there.
Wallen said, “I got a team — most of them are here today. I hollered at them and was just like, ‘We need to do something to help.’ So they put this all together.”
The organized food drive took place from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the West Town Mall. The items that were accepted included bottled water, pop-top canned food, and open-and-now-eat food like peanut butter and protein bars.
Morgan Wallen said about the food drive, “I got a team, most of them are here today. I hollered at them and was just like, ‘We need to do something to help.’ So they put this all together.”
Additionally, Wallen donated $500,000 to the Red Cross via the Morgan Wallen Foundation. The donated money would go to the victims affected by Hurricane Helen’s destruction.
Trevor Riggin, Red Cross national president for humanitarian services, in a statement, said, “We can’t thank Morgan Wallen enough for his heart and generous $500,000 donation to impact help on the ground now in the areas affected by Hurricane Helene, including his beloved East Tennessee,”
