Apple Has Ruled Out A Metaverse For Its Mixed Reality Headset

Apple is unlikely to follow in the footsteps of others into the metaverse with launch of mixed reality headset. Apple has rejected the concept of a metaverse (in this case, an all-virtual environment) for its long-rumored mixed reality headgear, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman’s monthly newsletter. According to Gurman’s sources, the concept is “off bounds.” Short bursts of conversation, material watching, and gaming would be the focus. Want to know more? Let us keep you updated with the best.

Launch of mixed reality headset

Previous speculations suggested that the headgear may be released this year, however its specifications and intended audience remain unknown. Early reports stated it will feature an 8K per eye resolution, over a dozen “inside out” tracking cameras, and a developer focus with a $3,000 price tag.

The headgear will ‘just’ employ 4K screens and six to eight cameras, according to well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, implying a more cheap gadget.

Apple headset different from Meta

If the report is genuine, Apple’s mixed reality strategy will be considerably different from that of its competitor Meta. Apple looks to be keen to avoid the metaverse, where Meta has redirected its AR and VR initiatives toward it. The question is whether or not that plan will succeed. If metaverses suffer, Apple’s rumoured strategy might pay dividends, and it could also undermine Meta’s objectives by reducing broad interest in virtual worlds. However, if metaverses succeed, Apple may find itself sponsoring others’ virtual reality worlds. This was all about the latest updation of mixed headsets.
