The Jurassic World franchise might cast Bridgerton actor Jonathan Bailey in the lead role. Jurassic World 4 is also allegedly casting the MCU’s Black Widow, Scarlett Johansson. It is one of the most popular franchises worldwide, and its box office success remains iconic to date. Meanwhile, Jonathan Bailey will also appear on screen in Jon M. Chu’s upcoming musical fantasy film ‘Wicked.’
Bridgerton’s beloved viscount, Anthony Bridgerton, will reportedly star in the new Jurassic World movie. After collaborating with Bailey on the upcoming Ariana Grande starrer movie Wicked, it seems like Universal Pictures is finding it hard to let go of such talent. American media outlet Deadline’s sources have confirmed that Bailey might star in the upcoming Jurassic World movie. Notably, Scarlett Johansson is already in talks to lead the film.
The movie, which will be directed by Gareth Edwards, is slated to release on July 2, 2025. Meanwhile, the screenwriter for the original Jurassic Park movie, David Koepp, will write the upcoming movie.
Interestingly, Koepp is one of the most successful screenwriters in the country in terms of box office collections. He has previously written classic movies such as Jurassic Park (1993) and The Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997). His other credits include Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008), Carlito’s Way (1993), Mission: Impossible (1996), Spider-Man (2002), and War of the Worlds (2005).
The film will bring a fresh perspective to the widely acclaimed franchise. Therefore, the previous actors in the Jurassic World franchise, including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum, are not expected to return.
Steven Spielberg’s Jurassic Park became the highest-grossing film released worldwide until 1993. Since then, the franchise has been a commercial success and has earned billions worldwide.
However, the film’s subsequent sequels, even though they were successful, were not able to match up to the legacy of the original movie. Therefore, the success of Jurassic World 4 remains crucial for the future of the beloved franchise.
In the meantime, curious fans can watch Jonathan Bailey in Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers. The third season of Netflix’s regency-era drama Bridgerton will be released in two parts, on May 16 and June 13.
His portrayal of Fiyero Tigelaar in the upcoming movie Wicked will be seen on November 27, 2024. Furthermore, Wicked Part Two has its premiere date set for November 26, 2025.
