Kelly Clarkson Files Lawsuit Against Ex-Husband Brandon Blackstock Again

After winning a $2.6 million ruling against him last fall, Kelly Clarkson has sued her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, again. This is a second case that targets Blackstock and Starstruck Entertainment, the management company of his father.

The 41-year-old singer filed this case in Los Angeles on March 11, 2024. She is seeking a judgment that Brandon, along with his father’s company Starstruck, has violated the labor rules of the state. The suit accuses them of working as agents without a license and fixing business deals.

As per a Page Six report, Clarkson’s suit states,

Based on the wrongful acts and conduct of Starstruck … all agreements between the parties should be declared void and unenforceable … and all monies previously paid by cross-complainants to Starstruck should be disgorged from Starstruck, forthwith.

Further, Kelly Clarkson, in reference to Brandon’s dad, Narvel Blackstock’s company, said that she is seeking

any and all commissions, fees, profits, advances, producing fees or other monies.

The legal battle between the former couple is nothing new. After they filed for divorce in 2020, Starstruck Entertainment sued the singer for millions. They claimed to have

invested a great deal of time, money, energy and dedication.

Not only this, they claimed that the firm has “developed Clarkson into a mega superstar.”

Blackstock was found violating California labor laws in the lawsuit filed by Clarkson last year. According to the November 2023 verdict, Starstruck has gotten Clarkson’s deals with The Voice, Norwegian cruise lines, Wayfair, and the Billboard Music Awards. The judge found unlawful behavior, as the agreements should have been done by the team at Creative Artists Agency responsible for the singer’s projects.

For the uninformed, California labor laws only allow talent agents to get work deals for their clients.
