Raised in a troubled household, his father left him and his family when he was only two. Initially, Lil Baby attended Booker. T Washington High School. Lil Baby, after dropping out of high school, supplied drugs and was a regular supplier at Quality Music Control studio. While supplying, he came across Kevin “Coach K Lee” who is a co-founder and COO of Quality Control Music inspired him to pursue a career in the same.
Following being mentored by Young Thug and Gunna, in 2017, he made his musical debut with his first mixtape, Perfect Timing. In the same year, his second mixtape, Harder than Harder was released which garnered accolades from listeners.
Subsequently, the next year, his first solo album, Harder Than Ever, premiered and ranked 3rd in Billboard 200. In the same year, he collaborated with Gunna for the lead single “Drip Too Hard” which won several accolades including The Granny Awards. In 2012, before venturing into the musical industry, Lil Baby was charged with possession of drugs which also included the intent to sell, among others. Subsequently, in 2013, he was charged with possession of Marijuana. Meanwhile, in 2014, he was arrested on the charges of possession and selling Marijuana; he served prison for two years.
Arrested for Reckless Driving
In 2019, Lil Baby was taken into custody after charges were pressed for “failure to signal, eluding police, and reckless driving.” However, he was released shortly after posting bail.
