Blizzard Entertainment has been releasing patches for World of Warcraft (WoW) Dragonflight, Wrath of the Lich King Classic, Burning Crusade Classic and WOW classic throughout the month of May. The game has got some significant patches on 22nd and 23rd May. In this article, we’ll delve right into these latest WOW patches and figure out how you can strategize your game in the presence of these changes.
Delving Deeper into the Patch: What’s New in World of Warcraft?
The first set of most recent patches are around items and rewards. Pay attention, as these patches can have an impact on how you’re currently running your WoW Raid.
The Dragonfire Bomb Dispenser is fixed
You’d know that charge stacks for the Dragonfire Bomb Dispenser were lost when you left the combat. The developers have addressed this issue and made sure that the charges stacked for the bomb dispenser are conserved consistently.
The Ominous Chromatic Essence is now enhanced
I don’t know if you’d call it a fix or an enhancement but the developers have made a patch around the Ominous Chromatic Essence. With the current patch the Ominous Chromatic Essence will recall the player’s previously chosen Oathstone alignment even if the player is relogging without being equipped with the trinket.
Alterations around the quests
After the latest patch released on May 23, players who have already finished the “Moving On” quest will be able to play the “Keeper of the Ossuary” provided their alts qualify for the quest. If your alt is at level 70, you can directly start the “Keeper of the Ossuary” quest without going through the Azure Span introduction.
Changes around the classes
We’ll now talk about patches released on May 22nd. There have been quite a few alterations around different classes of characters, their abilities, damage points, etc. Let’s see how the patch has affected different classes.
Monk
Prior to the patch, the Weapons of Order was increasing enemy damage taken from trinkets and embellishment effects beyond what was intended. This restores the balance among the classes to an extent.
Shaman
WoW has patched an issue around Shamans where the cooldown after using a Windstrike in Ascendance didn’t work properly. To quote WoW’s report, it was “an issue where using Windstrike in Ascendance while talented into Legacy of the Frost Witch and Thorim’s Invocation was not properly resetting the cooldown of Windstrike when gaining the Legacy of the Frost Witch buff.” Well, they’ve fixed it.
Warlock
Warlocks that specialize in Demonology got some attention in the patch. WoW has fixed certain Issues related to specific abilities not working on Magmorax’s platform. Earlier, Ripped through the Portal, Dread Calling, and Infernal Command would not work on Magmorax’s platform. Now, it’s been resolved.
Fixes around dungeons and raids
This patch has fine tuned the Mythic+ dungeon experience. They’ve made adjustments to specific encounters. The duration of Blazing Aegis for Forgemaster Gorek has been reduced to 4 seconds from 6 seconds. Additionally, the health of Quaking Totem has been reduced by 20% in Uldaman: Legacy of Tyr. In The Vortex Pinnacle, the health of Skyfall Nova has been reduced by 10%, making the encounter more manageable for adventurers.
Reduced frequency of elite enemies
According to the hotfixes reported by WoW, in Zaralek Cavern, the rare elite enemies will be visible in an area when the area becomes available to the players. The reward for fighting against rare elite enemies has been increased to offset the reduced frequency of such encounters.
Strategizing for Success: Navigating WoW Raids Post-Patch
Use the fact that you know about these latest patches to your advantages against those who might not be aware of the changes yet.
- Use the Demonology Warlocks to full effect in the Magmorax’s platform. Maybe you’ll catch some opponents by surprise.
- When you’re in Neltharus, make sure you plan your offensive strategy based on the reduced cooldown time for Blazing Aegis.
- Make sure to try the “Aiding the Accord: Suffusion Camp” quest, if your alt is between levels 60 and 66.
- Be especially careful about choosing the side-quests since the fight-frequencies are changing.
Overall, keep your eyes open for new opportunities and new patches.
