After viewing the film “Black Sabbath”, they were so inspired that they decided to change their band name to match the title in August of 1969. They started to deviate from the traditional style of music and added heavy bass and lyrics with a more sombre tone. By November, Black Sabbath was signed under Philips Records and released their first single “Evil Woman”. The following month, their self-titled album was issued to the public.
