K-pop is the shorter name for Korean pop. Nowadays, K-pop has become an industry. They are known by every country. It is the trend everywhere now. Whether it be the stadiums in Seoul or the billboards in New York, these are the groups that have given music the universal language. In this blog article, I will give you information on the top 10 Korean groups.

    1. BTS

    BTS

The team described in BTS consists of seven young men with nothing but ambition and a few mixtapes, and came into the limelight in 2013. BTS began by singing about youth, school stress, and the pursuit of dreams. They built a strong fan base in Korea with early albums like School Love Affair.

Then came I Need U in 2015, the song that made them mainstream. Hits like DNA, Blood Sweat & Tears, and Boy With Luv followed, and by 2020, Dynamite had them breaking records in the US and topping the Billboard Hot 100.

Their bond with fans, known as ARMY, is extraordinary. They discuss self-love, mental health, and resilience quite freely. They have over 77 million followers on their official Instagram channel, and they possess a following of over 80 million on the Spotify platform. V alone has around 68 million followers. BTS Jungkook, the youngest member of BTS, was the star of the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022. BTS is known by the seven members: V, RM, Jungkook, Suga, Jin, Jimin, and J-hope.

    2. BLACKPINK

Fans loved their style and energy from the start, and they quickly became global stars. Millions of streams were associated with the popularity of the songs, Kill This Love and How You Like That. BlackPink became the first K-pop girl group to appear at Coachella in 2019. Their performances were of high energy and flair.

Their music is bright and youthful, Very Nice and Don’t Wanna Cry became fan favorites. But they’ve also grown into deeper sounds with tracks like Super and Hot.

    5. NewJeans

    NewJeans

In 2022, NewJeans stepped into the spotlight with a sound that felt fresh and nostalgic at the same time. Songs like Attention, Hype Boy, and Ditto captured a soft, dreamy vibe that stood out in a market full of heavy beats.

Their style isn’t about overproduction: it’s about mood. They’ve already set fashion trends, with a Y2K-inspired look that fans copy worldwide.

Despite being new, they’ve built a strong presence, winning rookie awards and dominating streaming charts.

    6. EXO

    EXO

EXO debuted in 2012. SM Entertainment gave them a powerful concept, two sub-units, EXO-K and EXO-M, singing in Korean and Mandarin. Their early hits like Growl and Wolf became international anthems.

    7. GOT7

    GOT7

In 2014, GOT7 came into the picture with the bouncy, carefree Girls Girls Girls. They mixed hip-hop, pop, and R&B with acrobatics. They proved that they were very diverse through hits such as Just Right and If You Do.
