Being able to make quick decisions is imperative in blackjack games – but they have to be carefully thought out. But it’s not all serious, playing blackjack can be one of the most exhilarating games to play at an online casino.

If you’re looking to step your game up in the blackjack world, we’ve got some great tips to take your game to the next level.

Take your blackjack game to the next level

Try out a live casino

A live casino is a great way to enjoy something a little new and different whilst improving your game. You can play blackjack at a live casino against a computer which is always fun. But playing at a live casino takes things to the next level.

It’s a lot easier to play against a computer as you’re not looking at a real person. It’s easier to focus on your game when there’s not a real human in front of you. But a live casino increases the intensity of the game.

Humans are a lot more difficult to read and playing against a real life dealer could catch you out more than a computer could. This encourages you to up your game and work a lot harder. It’s the best way to practise because it’s a tougher environment.

Master the basic strategy

If you prefer to take your blackjack game to the next level using a strategy, then the basic strategy is something you should have in your arsenal. It’s a more technical way of looking at the numbers and using them to decide whether or not you stick on certain cards.

Basic strategy is a set of rules that has been worked out by people who have played this game in a professional way. It takes a look at the cards from a theoretical perspective and works out the probability of each outcome.

It looks at the total made by your cards, and the dealer’s card that is facing up, and works out who is most likely to be closer to 21. Using this strategy should, theoretically, minimise your chances of a loss.

For example, if your cards add up to between 12 and 16, and the dealer has a card value of between 2 and 6, your best option is to stand. However, if the tables are turned the other way, you’d be best off getting a hit of another card to up your own chances.

This is a more complex way to up your blackjack game, but it’s worth putting in the effort to learn if you’re serious about improving.

Manage your bankroll

Of course, no one is ever going to get good at blackjack if they lose all their money. Maintaining a stringent betting plan is imperative to improving your blackjack game.

Managing your bankroll is something that all good casino gamers should do. This means setting out the amounts you can afford to bet by working out how much you can afford to lose. Working backwards means that you have a clear picture of how much you can bet each time, and prepares you for the worst.

Make sure you stick to your set budget, there’s nothing worse than coming away from a game with a financial predicament.

Place some side bets

Placing side bets can be a great way to improve your game – as long as they’re used in the right way. Side bets are often available on live blackjack games and they are just additional bets you can make alongside your normal blackjack game.

They typically involve just a small wager and can add winnings to your game overall. If you’re looking to boost the money you take away from the game, they can be a great addition.

Practice with friends

One of the best ways to up your game is to practice! The more you do it, the better you’ll get. And what better way than to get practising with friends? That way, you’ll not only improve on your blackjack game, but you’ll get to hang out with your pals while you do it.

You might even be able to convince them to join you at the tables. There are lots of online casinos where you can play with friends. You can also snap up a referral bonus if you’re the one introducing them to a brand new online casino.

Playing blackjack is a great way to spend your free time, and if you follow these helpful hints, you’re bound to enjoy it even more. What other tips would you give blackjack players?
