Silent Hill 2, Konami’s survival horror game, is set to release in 2024. There was no information shared after 2022 regarding the Silent Hill 2 remake. The silence had many fans doubtful as well as curious about the release of the project. A video posted by PlayStation shows several games along with their decided release date. As per the Silent Hill 2 announcement teaser, the remake will have a third-person view from a camera angle, similar to the Resident Evil remakes. It is known that the remake will only be available on PlayStation 5 and PC for some time after launch. But it will be a PS5 exclusive only for 12 months, and then it might come to platforms like the Xbox One series, among others.
Many games like Tekken 8 and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League were already known to be released in 2024, but the Silent Hill 2 remake was not mentioned anywhere until now. It made an appearance in the video, implying that it will be released in 2024. However, the video did not offer much information about the release, and the title was simply mentioned along with some previous footage. It is believed to be the same as the classic game, though the developer team is firm about its decision not to make any changes to the story. Bloober Team’s Chief Marketing Officer, Anna Jasinska, said in an interview in January 2023, “We are focusing on bringing the distinct, visceral atmosphere back in the modernized Silent Hill 2. Longtime fans shouldn’t worry about us “missing the point” while we’re livening up the title.”
Konami’s MGS Snake Eater is also set to release this year, which indicates that they are looking forward to releasing new versions of their iconic games and bringing those franchises back. 2024 is going to be a big year for Konami.
